EARTHQUAKE STRENGTHENING WORKS
85 THE TERRACE, WELLINGTON
Rapaki Property Group is pleased to announce that we are commencing Earthquake strengthening works at 85 The Terrace in Wellington.
We have engaged the professional structural engineering services of Silvester Clark to work with the Wellington City Council (WCC) to advise structural plans to strengthen 85 The Terrace to greater than 67% of the New Building Standard (NBS).
We will then seek approval from the WCC, upon acceptance of Building Consent to carry out the strengthening works in stages, floor by floor over a period of 1-2 years.
Earthquake strengthening works will consist of:
1. Strengthening of the stairwells from the roof to the ground floor.
2. Strengthening of the spandrels in the front and rear of the building.
3. Strengthening of all columns at the ground floor of The Terrace frontage.
4. Strengthening of the lift and stairwell walls.
5. Strengthening of some columns at the east and west walls from levels 1 to 5.
We view to commence strengthening works on 01 February 2012 and will start with point 1. as detailed above.
The programme of the above is yet to be confirmed and will be available to view on our website in due course.
